The Magic Mountain Foundation is based at the foothills of Karkonosze mountains, south-west Poland. It offers one of the best rock climbing areas in the region and unique mountain terrain for practicing all kinds of sports and mountain activities.
To our climbing-rehabilitation camps we invite troubled youth from correction houses, children and youth from marginalized environments and disabled – autism, cerebral palsy and with their family members. For several years we have been working with different citizen organizations from Poland, Germany, Hungary, specializing in rehabilitation and therapy of such groups.
We have started our rehabilitation programs in 2000 as passionate climbers and mountaineers. Since 2004 we run the rehabilitation programs as a foundation with over 300 participants on annual basis. All our participants integrate in adventurous outdoor activities and experiential learning starting already in late spring and finishing in late autumn. We propose highly specialized program tailored to individual needs and strengths of participants. The length of our activities varies from 1 to 14 days. Our programs include other educational components, such as environmental issues, interpersonal training, mountain movie shows or meetings with ‘mountain people’. Through promotional activities, movie festivals, exhibitions, publications and website thousands of people learn about our activities each year.
